I’m excited to introduce you to my new book, Gone in a Flash. This isn’t a children’s book, but I am working on a collection of flash fiction stories for kids, so watch this space.
Flash fiction describes a very short story which should end with a twist or a surprise – even a shock.
I love creating these stories, and I love the challenge of making them just one hundred words.
If my original story begins with a word count over and above the one hundred word limit, I edit, and edit, and edit. The story always sounds better when I’ve done that.
I suppose these stories could also be described as micro stories, flashes.
I hope you enjoy them.
Oh, and when the story first presents itself to you, please hide the last line with your hand, a piece of paper … whatever.
We all need a surprise now and then.
